RodeoFacts.org is an independent animal welfare advocacy organization dedicated to exposing the documented cruelty behind rodeo entertainment and building the public and legislative movement to end it.
Why We Do This Work
Rodeos are often presented as wholesome American tradition. But behind the arena lights, animals are subjected to pain, fear, and injury — not by accident, but by design. Flank straps, electric prods, spurs, and roping techniques are deliberately used to provoke distress for the sake of spectacle. We believe the public deserves to know the truth, and that animals deserve better than to suffer for entertainment.
Our work is grounded in veterinary science, firsthand investigation, and legal research. We don't sensationalize — we document. Every claim on this site is sourced. Every statistic is cited. Because the facts alone are damning enough.

Our Story
Started by People Who Couldn't Look Away
RodeoFacts.org was founded by a group of animal welfare advocates, veterinarians, and researchers who were troubled by the gap between how rodeos are marketed and what actually happens to the animals involved. What began as a documentation project became a full advocacy campaign — and a growing movement.
Today, we work with legislators, educators, and grassroots organizers across the country to push for bans on the most harmful rodeo practices, and ultimately, an end to events that treat animal suffering as entertainment.
